Project Description

ATLANTES is a Medical Humanities Research Programme which aims to promote a positive attitude towards palliative care. The research lines are a) Intangibles values in Palliative Care b) Global Palliative Care and c) The Palliative Care to the professionals and the society. ATLANTES works from a vision based on the dignity of the person and of professional care, including respect to the natural course of the illness and attention to the spiritual and emotional dimensions of the person. The ATLANTES research team is interdisciplinary and international, with researchers and assistants’ researchers with different backgrounds (sociology, nursing, physiotherapy, medicine and history) and from different countries. The research programme is now in its sixth year.

Post-Doctoral Researcher ·full time. The position is based in Pamplona, Navarra (Spain)

Background and area of expertise

We are looking for a person with doctorate in medical humanities, geography, humanities or social sciences, to work in international Public Health Studies on Global Palliative Care, able to work in English, fluent reading, speaking and writing, with experience and publications in research studies. The interest or experience in health issues and/or palliative care would be an added value for us.

Spanish (as well as other languages) is a plus but not a requirement.

Objectives for the applicant

The candidate will develop and lead a new project in Global Palliative Care with the aim to analyse and document the international developments in the field. BE MORE SPECIFIC

That person, have to be able to integrate and to work in a dynamic interdisciplinary team and a demonstrated ability to publish in top-tier journals.
